Connections

We were talking about dividing fractions again today and while this model isn’t perfect, I loved the student comment that accompanied it. “It’s like music, each measure has four beats. Diego did one and 3/4 measures.”

Being able to “see” a different whole is such a tough abstract thing and this student was so convinced of the answer because she found a tie-in to something she was sure she understood.
